For a while now, Kmail has been disrespecting the set fonts for the email editor as well as the message view. Rather, it displays everything I write, as well as emails that do not have a font specified, as Monospace.

It does not matter what I do in the settings. I have tried different fonts ("Sans Serif" is selected by default - and is applied in all other parts of Kmail!), and I have tried it with and without "Use custom font" checked in the settings window. It also does not matter if html is activated or disabled for the email.

All other font settings still seem to work fine, including font type, color, and style.

Any clue what I could do? Thanks! This is Kmail 4.8.1 on openSUSE 12.1.

P.S.: I might be mistaken, but I thought Kmail had a font setting where just one standard font could be specified for fixed width and one for variable width. Is this right? If you, then that might be part of the problem as cannot select that from the font selection dialog (anymore?).

I found the answer. Somehow, the item "fixed width" in the View menu was checked. I unchecked it and the problem is gone.

Thanks for this, it was driving me NUTS! Seem to have "set itself" when I briefly tried "html reply"
