kttsd for PClinuxOS

Tue Mar 27, 2012 1:31 pm
Hi All

Can anyone help and tell me where to get kttsd for PClinuxOS? (and how to install it!)

I'm trying to get the Talking Clock working but get an error about starting kttsd?

Thanks

You need Jovie installed, if you read the entire error message it starts with something like: Jovie failed to start then could not find service kttsd

don't know PCLinuxOS but they may name the package differently, Google'ing I found a mention of it being in the kde-accessibility rpm

run
Code: Select all
rpm -ql kde-accessibility|grep /bin/jovie

the result should be
Code: Select all
/bin/jovie
meaning it is in the package

running
Code: Select all
ls -l /bin/jovie
will show if it is installed

is there a message error being displayed when clock tries to talk? if so what is exact message ?
