Is there a keyboard shortcut to activate/deactivate Mouse Navigation (navigating the mouse using the numpad of the keyboard)? Thanks, Andreas

Usually Num Lock (a Button on the keyboard) is used for this.

Have you looked into numlockx? If you can find a command which toggles the Numlock in software, then it is possible to setup a keyboard shortcut using System Settings. Check Shortcuts & Gestures > Custom Shortcuts to set this up (once you know the essential command).

I found that the kde mouse navigation is a Xorg feature which can be activated by shortcuts such as Shift+Num-Lock (on my system) unless this X shortcut has been deactivated (as is the case in current Xorg versions used by ubuntu). The shortcut can be activated by
setxkbmap -option keypad:pointerkeys Then the Shift+Nom-Lock shortcut (or similar) can be used again to activate mouse navigation. |

Thanks that did the trick! _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ I don't try to be a threat to Microsoft, mainly because I don't really see MS as competition.
