I've been trying to install on a netbook. This project is fantastic btw. Great work Peter! I'm sure it's just basic reasons it's failing but I've never attempted installing a KDE app on Lubuntu until today. I also had to install cmake, kdelibs5-dev and kdebase-dev.

Attempting to compile Simon for myself via http://userbase.kde.org/Simon/Development_Environment#Linux I go through the following procedure
Code: Select all
sudo ./build_ubuntu.sh

This time I get the following error
Qwt 6.x include dir not found
CMake Error at cmake/FindQwt6.cmake:106 (MESSAGE):
Could not find Qwt 6.x

I tried using the source of https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/si ... 1-0ubuntu2 but I have found my grasp of Linux code hits a brick wall when things don't go smoothly. I then thought to look into Synaptic. I had previously installed simon-data from the Lubuntu Software Centre but could not find the front end for simon.

Anyway turns out that Synaptic has both 'simon' and 'simon-data' and I've finally got it installed. Shows in the 'universal access' apps.

Sharing this as it actually sucked hours away from my life. If I'd gone there first things would have been way easier. But hey I now know how to run an sh file and understand what deb install files do, so not a total waste. Looking forward to tinkering with it.

Please check in your package manager to see if a "Qwt" package is available.

Just for the record: Simon needs Qwt >= 6.0 to compile.

Best regards,
Peter
