Hello.

I wanted to type Japanese on my Dell Inspiron (English keyboard) so I installed ium with Mozc addon. So I get the language set up and all, but everytime I switch to Mozc to type Japanese the software somehow assume I'm using a Japanese keyboard (which I'm not).
So if I press these keys K A N A
The software will tranform them into のちみち
While I fact I wanted to type かな

I have both English and Japanese keyboard layout installed but that doesn't seem to change anything. Even in the English layout (both in KDE desktop and in ium option) the input still messed up.

Any clues what's happening here?

How have you configured this keyboard layout change? Was it through System Settings > Input Devices > Keyboard?

Can you also clarify what the Mozc addon does?

Mozc is a Japanese input method originally came from Google Japanese Input, you can read about it here

It sounds like two systems may be in conflict with each other. How are you "switching to Mozc"?
The KDE Keyboard Layout configuration is intended to control the physical keyboard layout rather than IME's from what i'm aware.
