Hi there

I'd like to install Simon on ubuntu 16.04 but don't seem to be able to get it to work.

The package seems to be in the repository (see https://packages.ubuntu.com/search?keywords=simon&searchon=names&exact=1&suite=xenial&section=all).

However, when I try

Code: Select all
sudo apt-get install simon

I keep getting

Code: Select all
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
E: Unable to locate package simon

The problem persists after
Code: Select all
sudo apt-get update
and
Code: Select all
sudo apt-get upgrade
as recommended here https://askubuntu.com/questions/378558/unable-to-locate-package-while-trying-to-install-packages-with-apt. I have also ticked all the boxes in the software & updates menu.

In addition, I have noted that I cannot locate the package using
Code: Select all
apt-cache search simon
.

Can anyone explain why that is? If the package has been removed from the repositories I would also be happy to compile it if someone could give advise how to do that.

Any help would be much appreciated,

Hi,

Could you provide the content of your sources.list please ?

Code: Select all
cat /etc/apt/sources.list

And paste the content here. If you have any files under the directory /etc/apt/sources.list.d/, paste the content also.

Thanks.
