I'm having this error on Ubuntu 11.04. How do i solve it?

The image has the printscreen error.

I would recommend searching the repositories for a copy of Simon, or alternately for a PPA that contains Simon - as the *.deb you are trying to use is not compatible with your system.

Sorry that you are having troubles with installing simon. As bcooksley already pointed out: The package you are trying to install is not compatible with Ubuntu 11.04.

The released version is in fact quite old already (more than a year) which is why there are no updated builds available. The simon team has been working hard on simon 0.4 but until that is released, I'm afraid your options are a bit limited:
1. You can try to compile simon 0.3 for Ubuntu 11.04 which should be doable. Because some libraries have been remained in the last Ubuntu releases, there might be some minor problems to solve, though.
2. Test the current development version which compiles cleanly against Ubuntu 11.04 but is of course less stable than the released and tested simon 0.3.

As both involve compiling software they are of course not quite as easy as just installing a package but I'd of course help you with it if you want to try it out.

On the other hand, there is currently an effort from the Ubuntu accessibility team to get simon into the next Ubuntu. Related blueprint: https://blueprints.launchpad.net/ubuntu ... essibility
As you will notice, it says that the packaging of simon for Ubuntu is "INPROGRESS" so an updated build may be available soon. Altough it'll be built against the upcoming Ubuntu 11.10 it would most likely still work with Ubuntu 11.04.

I'm also interested in trying Simon on my Kubuntu 11.10 system. Unfortunately, I can only find the already mentioned .deb package and not the sources. Where can I download the source files?
