Hello I'm trying to compile simon on my Gentoo box, I've used this manual http://www.cyber-byte.at/wiki/index.php ... nvironment
The log is posted bellow, I believe the error is a missing Julius config file (according to the log).

it would appear that you don't have julius (speech recognition engine) installed as the descritipn of Simon is "a ready-to-use interface for the julius speech recognition engine" http://julius.sourceforge.jp/en_index.php
ps - when posting large text files please post the text on something like pastebin and then post the pastebin link in the post |

Problem solved I just have to add the semantic-desktop use flag.
Thanks |

Yes, you need the semantic-desktop useflag - if the build system finds the pim libraries it assumes a "full" installation. Simon can work without the pim libs entirely, though (it'd just disable the Akonadi plugin) if you want to avoid semantic-desktop.
Also: We just switched to use an external Julius instead of shipping a forked version with simon. Sorry for the rough edges. I just removed some left over includes and Julius should now officially be a runtime dependency. Best regards, Peter |
