Hello!
I run Marble on a Mac with Lion. I have downloaded and extracted an additional map, but I can't find the place where Marble stores the maps so I don't know where to put it. The file system on the Mac is not too transparent! Help would be appreciated. Regards Hakan Nilsson |

On Linux at least, Marble installs it's maps to $prefix/share/apps/marble/data/maps/ where $prefix is where you installed Marble to if you self-compiled it.

I downloaded and installed the dmg packet from marble.kde.org. I have not compiled it by myself.

Hi,
Well you need to distinguish Home location and System location. Marble will first look into the Home location and if it doesn't find it then it will search in the System directory. On Mac OS X and Linux the home path should be below ~/.local/share/marble/ That means a "ortelius1570" theme would get placed inside ~/.local/share/marble/maps/earth/ortelius1570 You will probably have to create the folder structure if it doesn't exist yet. Please give feedback whether it works for you |

It worked after I had enabled hidden files in Finder! Thank you ever so much for your kind advice!

Oh yes, exactly as you described it. The folders already existed.. They are however hidden, so you have to open the terminal and give the command:
defaults write com.apple.Finder AppleShowAllFiles YES and then restart Finder. |
