Hello,
I am a bit confused I wanted to take the map coordinates from Marble and paste them into an application I am working on. For some reason Marble's coordinates come out as (Longitude, Latitude) when every other mapping program I have come across uses (Latitude,Longitude). Could some one explain why Marble has opted to diverge from the standard? Thanks, Bill |

There's no such standard. See e.g. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/7309 ... ude-tuples and see how people disagree.

Yup, it's like vi and emacs. In GPS circles there is frequently a Latitude-Longitude preference - elsewhere it's often different. Google's KML is using the Longitude-Latitude oder and the same goes for many others. We had discussed this order initially and went for Longitude-Latitude. Maybe one could add an option in the configuration dialog under "View" -> "Units" for the preferred order which would then get shown and offered for copying. However that might be at the edge of featuritis so no promises
