Hi,
I have try to tranform a geotiff image in a kml file. When loading it in marble widget, The resolution is really poor whereas my image is a high resolution image (In Google Earth it is well displayed and the resolution is ok). I think that the tiling doesn't work perfectly for kml files in Marble. How can I have the good resolution using a kml file ? Thanks. |

Currently there's no tiling (of images at least) done for KML files and the images are loaded with the original resolution, so that surprises me. Can you post the .kml file you're using and the image?

Here 's what I have done for one of my test:
I use Marble 1.5.1 with Windows 7. Original image: TrueMarble.8km.5400x2700.tif from http://www.unearthedoutdoors.net/global ... e/download The I have used Global mapper -> Tools/Configure --> Projection: Plate Carree (projection) Then File -> Export Raster/Image Format -> Save as KML JPG quality = 100 Grid Cell Size (256x256) Unchecked Create Compressed KMZ File in order to have a kml file When loading in Google Earth Ihave this: And with Marble: Any Idea ? |

I have tested using marble-setup-1.4.1.exe and the refinement is OK with this version (as if I have some tiling orientation problems).
World map with marble 0.14.1: Sub region with marble 0.14.1: I have tested using marble-setup-1.5.0.exe (http://marble.kde.org/install.php) and the refinement is NOT OK with this version. This is the same with the 0.15.1 Marble Library. I have build it using visual C++ 2008. Sub region with marble 0.15.0. It is the same view as Sub region with marble 0.14.1 (image above) So it should have a bug with the 0.15.* version. |
