Config options to set "Map Adjustment" and "Auto Zoom"

Hi,

I'm working on a Kubuntu 13.04 based CarPC and found Marble to be quite good as a map viewing application (And am still looking at the routing functionality). However, when I start Marble, it remembers my setting for the "Position Tracking" option (gpsd), but it does not remember my settings for "Map Adjustment" (Keep at Center) or "Auto Zoom" (On). This is obviously annoying in a Car PC setting, as any time I want to use Marble I need to go and turn those on first (On a small touch screen no less!).

Is there an option in a config file somewhere that I can force those two options to my desired settings on startup? Is this perhaps just a bug?

EDIT: I should probably add that I am using the package straight from the Ubuntu repositories

That's indeed an oversight (bug) in the Marble KDE version. The Qt version saves and restores those settings correctly. I just filed a task here for someone to pick up and implement the missing functionality.

Btw. for routing you likely want to use Monav as the backend in Marble. Just install monav-routing-daemon in Ubuntu and then download some offline monav maps from within Marble (in the routing configuration dialog). There are some hints for that (screenshots show the N900 version, but its similar on the Desktop) in http://userbase.kde.org/Marble/Maemo/OfflineRouting

Thanks!

Installing the monav-routing-daemon was the step I had missed, and had been wondering why it was telling me there were no routes found when I tried a little test. I might take a crack at fixing the tracking settings in a few days too, assuming it hasn't been touched.
