Hi
I was until know adept of bikeroutetoaster. brt does not offer actually the mode "create course" any more since 4..6 weeks ago. But it offers the download from gpx file from your old courses (some users as I have much hundred of them in brt!) to save them on HD or view them in an standard viewer (not needed in the past: brt course creator is a viewer). The offered standard viewer is "marble"... marble does not appear in the menu of my kubuntu version (13.10) . it also does not appear in the submenus "Debian" / "KDE" prepared bei Kubuntu for other WMs as KDE itself. But it was preinstalled bei Kubuntu as I did observe invocating "marble" in the program starter (probably because I did install full KDE for Kubuntu)... so I did discover marble through brt! for gpx users, it is a really wonderful app! as viewer, different of brt itself, it is able to visualize more than only one gpx route at the same time, you can show your alternative ways on the same picture! very fine would be to have the possibility to change the colour of pen before you open the next gpx: you would be able doing that, to use a code of colours to mark what kind of way the one is, for ex.: orange for summer way blue for winter way red for dangerous way green for in all cases recommended way, principal way. how to commute the colour of pen? kind regards PS: perfect would be not to select the colour but colour and kind of line ( ...... or ------- or -.-.-.-.-.-. and thickness) |

The easiest way would be to convert gpx files to kml and specify different line colors / thickness each time. Gpsbael can do that easily, see http://www.gpsbabel.org/htmldoc-1.4.4/fmt_kml.html
