Is Marble good for my application?

Fri Apr 04, 2014 1:08 pm
Hello,

Is Marble what I am looking for?

I need to integrate an extensible map widget with my application running on sized-down linux ARM platform with around 1GB RAM, potentially no storage, potentially low bandwidth and connectivity. These limits are quite important. My application is developed using C++ and Qt5, with QML interfaces, using QtQuick 2.

Map would be used, aside from normal virtual globe uses, to display custom layer data provided by some geolocalized sensors. I need to create, display and edit paths (with waypoints) on map view, it also needs to be touchscreen-enabled.

Is Marble up to this task, or should I look elsewhere (Cesium?). What are the limits I should be aware of?

Thank you very much!

I am sorry, I did post my question previously in a wrong thread by mistake.

I know this question requires substantial knowledge to answer, but I could use any help - i.e. just a tip on who/where to ask.

With regards,
Adam
