Annotation

Thu Jun 04, 2015 9:28 am
Hi,
It should be possible to annotate maps in marble, but how? The annotation plugin is enabled, but there is no GUI anywhere and nothing in the handbook :\

Hi sredna,

on a recent build (e.g. git master or KDE Applications/15.04) you can toggle its user interface in the menu: Settings => Panels => Edit Maps.

Note that the plugin is still under heavy development, some rough edges and missing features are to be expected. We have a GSoC student dedicated to improve it further at the moment though :)

I have this:
[anders@archie ~]$ pacman -Qi kdeedu-marble
Navn : kdeedu-marble
Version : 15.04.2-1

No "Edit map" panel available. I'm running marble in danish, but that can not be a problem in this context!?

There is an additonal catch:

The Marble configuation file needs to be altered to enable the annotation plugin and make it visible.
E.g. make sure you have this:

[plugin_annotation]
enabled=true
visible=true

... or just purge your Marble configuration files.
