Hello,
I am cyclist and I use Marble to preparing my travel. So I need to now the elevation. My problem is when I export a track with (.gpx extension) there is not element named « ele ».
I use Marble version:1.11.80 (1.12. Beta 1) with a computer ASUS and Fedora FC23.
In “Info boxes” if I stick “elevation profile” I have a draw completely flat.
I am very surprise because on my other computer and with Fedora FC20 and Marble version : 1.9.95 (1.10. Beta 3) I have not this problem ? I look at about configuration but I saw any difference ?
It's certainly very simple but …..?
Thank you if you could help me.
I am french so sorry about my English.
sincerely.

This is a bug in the current stable version, and possibly all previous ones also. It is caused by a move of the files on KDE servers. It should be fixed now in the master branch with https://phabricator.kde.org/D830

I guess your other computer is affected as well in the sense that it would not download the required elevation data if you calculate a route in a place where you have not been before (in Marble). It only works on the data it was able to download at some earlier point. You can work around it be copying the directory
Code: Select all
~/.local/share/marble/maps/earth/srtm2
from your computer running FC20 to the one running FC23.

Hello,
Thank you for your answer. OK I found on my computer with Fedora FC20 a file : ~/.local/share/marble/maps/earth/srtm2
If I understand, I have to copy this file on to my computer ASUS with Fedora FC23 and Marble version :1.11.80 (1.12. Beta 1) ?
I will try it tomorrow.
sincerely.

Hello,
My problem is better but…..
At first I copy file “srtm2” in my computer ASUS with Fedora FC23 and Marble version: 1.11.80(1.12.Beta1) in a good place (.local/share/marble/maps/earth/srtm2). If I make a “Routing” and I look at the graph about “elevation” it's OK (in info Boxes I stick Elevation Profile).
After I try to “Export route...” in .gpx, the result is not always the same. Some time in the file .gpx there is an element “ele” (example <ele>379.00</ele>) and another time there isn't this element …….? I remarque that is OK if I choice “Bicycle” and no OK if I choice “Car fastest”. For me it look very strange…. I think it's about configurations for “bicycle, Car or Pedestrian”.
Nevertheless now I can used Marble.
For example I give you 2 beginning of files .gpx :

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="no" ?>
<gpx xmlns="http://www.topografix.com/GPX/1/1" creator="Marble" version="1.1" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.topografix.com/GPX/1/1 http://www.topografix.com/GPX/1/1/gpx.xsd">

</rtept>
<rtept lat="46.9536660" lon="4.6295180">
