GeoGraphicsItem

Wed Jan 27, 2016 2:33 pm
Hello. Can't understand about Marble::GeoGraphicsItem: is it possible to add it on the map, like a QGraphicsItem on a QGraphicsScene? I need an object, the position and shape of which may be managed as simple as QGraphicsItem.

That's the idea of GeoGraphicsItem, yes. Some working examples of GeoGraphicsItems are the vector rendering (see e.g. http://nienhueser.de/blog/?p=628 : all those map items in the screenshots are GeoGraphicItems) and the "Edit Map" panel (see http://mariusoc.blogspot.ro/ for some recent updates on it). Our implementation has not yet reached a state as complete as Qt's QGraphicsScene though. Therefore it depends a lot on your use case whether what you are trying to achieve is easy to accomplish with Marble or not.
