Tropic line bad position

Thu Aug 30, 2018 5:33 am
According last WGS84 parameters, the exact terrestrial axis tilt is = 23° 26' 21.41"

That means that the tropic latitude should be the same (if earth was a perfect sphere). There should be some software to calculate this, but I didn't find it. Sorry!

Regardless the real exact latitude point is, Marble shows it as = 23° 27' 00.00", which is an error.

As an example, from my beautiful country, the best place in the world = CHILE, into the Antofagasta area, you can see the Capricorn Tropic Monument symbol placed on the right latitude in the map. But, the tropic line is showed upon the 23° 27' 00.00" grid line.

Is there a way to fix this? Can somebody tell this to the Marble team?

Thank you so much for your time!

Blessings and Greetings from Chile!

Juan.

Hi,

Is there any source/url for the exact position? It's easy to change. In fact it can be changed at

lib/marble/PlanetFactory.cpp line 88

But I find different values in different places on the internet. Any insight on this?
