When using satellite view in marble, the cloud layer seems to render incorrectly.

Hello,Rosarum.
I have only been running Marble a couple of days (Win Vista/Win 7 64 bit) & I have had a similar problem. Except the divide between the odd cloud rendering was almost exactly half of the southern part of the globe, not unlike yours, but less area affected. I first noticed this phenomenon on a Portable Apps version of Marble on a (Windows) laptop computer. It appears to be manifested by using a combination of using the arrow keys & clicking to move between globe views. Or so it seems to me. It also appears to right itself for me as well. My guess is it's some bug which doesn't seem to be OS specific (as it happens on Linux & Windows), & hopefully not a persistent one. The 'cloud cover', aesthetically pleasant as it is, isn't that useful. |

give it a try, it's pretty easy
-1st create an account -go to home page and click "search", helps to make sure bug doesn't already exist -select all, marble, then clouds -if existing bug found then you can add your experiences and vote for it -if no bug exits then at the bottom of the page will be a link "file a new bug", just fill in the fields (* fields are required) - |

The issue mentioned here is not a bug in Marble. It's an issue with the cloud cover data. See our FAQ:

Thanks for the replies, so, it looks like it isn't a bug after all. So that's fine then.

Dave, can I use one of your pics to illustrate the issue in our FAQ?
EDIT: Oh wait's it's not one of your pics - it's Rosarum's ... Anyways - if somebody could "donate" a screenshot showing the issue that would be great. Currently I'm not able to reproduce the issue (un?)fortunately ... |

I have discovered that if the rendering problem manifests, it can often be fixed by magnifying/zooming the display.
