Marble with Google maps

Fri Oct 07, 2011 9:22 am
Hi,

I don't know if this is the suitable forum for my question. If not please direct me to the appropriate forum.

I am using Marble Desktop Designer Plugin in one of my applications. Is it possible to overlay Google maps? if so how?

Many thanks,
Carlos.

Technically it's already possible to display Google Maps in Marble.
Legally however the license of Google Maps content doesn't allow usage of Google Maps material in an application like Marble.
So we don't officially support it. We suggest to use and support OpenStreetMap instead since the quality of the maps is usually much better.

Since Marble 1.1 you can integrate any kind of maps yourself using a nice Wizard!
