Hi,
at the moment I am on the way to develop a "ham-radio-contest-software". In this application I need a very simple worldclock / sunclock to show the "grayline". In older versions of KDE there was a software called "kworldclock", which was very easy to integrate into my software. Now I used the "MarbleWidget", but it's not so easy to create a map like: http://edu.kde.org/marble/ see the screenshot under "For Developers: Marble Widget". This is 99 % what I need. Is there any source code for this? Do you have any idea? Many thanks and best regards. |

That's trivially easy:
Lesson 1 of the Tutorial: http://techbase.kde.org/Projects/Marble/MarbleCPlusPlus Lesson 2 of the Tutorial: http://techbase.kde.org/Projects/Marble ... rbleWidget Alternatively you can also just use Qt Designer (which gives you the result displayed on Marble's Website within 2 minutes): http://techbase.kde.org/Projects/Marble/MarbleDesigner If you have any development questions, just ask them on marble-devel@kde.org. Did you know that Marble has a Hamradio plugin built in? BR, Torsten |

Hello Torsten,
many thanks for your reply. Maybe I was not exact enough in describing my problem, sorry, my fault. Yes, I know this links and I use the "marble widget" within the Qt-Creator. It is really very easy to create a map. The "special" thing I need is to show the zone of day and the zone of night on the map. (like the plasmoid "worldclock"). I am running openSuSe 11.4 KDE 4.6 marble-devel 4.6 Qt-Creator 2.1 My questions are: 1. Does any ready code exists for a non-plasmoid worldclock or do I have to do it by my own? 2. Is it possible to update to marble-devel 4.8 without any risk? Best regards Olaf |
