Environment Variables Not Honored

Thu Mar 08, 2012 4:35 am
I'm attempting to use KDevelop 4.7.4 for cross compiling embedded applications using the KDevelop environment variables. In 4.4.5 this process worked well, but now in version 4.7.4 the environment variables are being processed.

Any ideas what could be causing this?

I'm sorry, I don't really understand your problem. Could you describe it a bit more in-depth, maybe with a small example?

I'm working on the KDevelop IDE.

In Kdevelop, I use several environment variables to force the IDE to use an ARM compiler. To do this, I select Settings > Configure KDevelop... > Environment. I then create a variable for CROSS_COMPILE that points to the toolchain I'm using.

When I build the project, it doesn't use the correct compiler - it acts as if the environment variable was never set. To verify this, I changed the makefile to simply print out the variable and it too indicates the variable was never set.

I'm a bit stumped on this as it worked perfect in Kdevelop 4.0 on Ubuntu.
