I am running KDE 4.3.4 on CentOS 6.2. I have Alt-Tab set to switch windows in the usual fashion. Intermittently, this stops working: the key combination simply does nothing.
I cannot pin this down to anything specific happening: the most recent occasion was when I ran vi in an existing Konsole window. When this happens, this key combination remains correctly set in Settings -> System Settings -> Keyboard & Mouse -> Global Keyboard Shortcuts. Running xev shows that the correct keycodes are being read by X. This appears to be the same problem as the ones reported at http://old.nabble.com/Alt-Tab-just-stop ... 24042.html and http://old.nabble.com/Bug-470625:-kwin: ... 01722.html. The latter contains a post saying "Fixed for sure in KDE 4.1". "For sure" as in "fingers crossed"! Should I report this as a bug? I've seen similar bug reports where the only response was along the lines of "cannot reproduce, go away". Ed |

If there is a bug in this case, specific information on your setup and the method needed to reproduce it are going to be required. I found this out when trying to reproduce an issue with Dolphin and watching for changes on files.
To troubleshoot this, can you try changing the focus to other windows?
