Right click delay?

Tue Nov 11, 2014 10:03 am
So I upgraded to Kdevelop 4.7.0 to try and fix what I thought was a bug, but the problem persists. Basically, when you right click, you can count three seconds before the context menu appears. The problem does not occur when running Kdevelop as root, just as a regular user. Thoughts?

OK, so I figured out how to solve the problem- I deleted the .kde directory in my home folder. I wouldn't let me delete it, so I assume that at some point I must have openned Kdevelop with sudo and one of the files got writen with the wrong permisions. Anyway, removing the .kde folder and letting it remake it solved the right-click delay issue.

Nevermind, it's doing it again.

Please attach gdb to KDevelop, and generate a backtrace at the point it freezes. It is likely something like an SCM plugin is causing this issue.

I suggest running kdevelop in terminal, with full debug output enabled (see 'kdebugdialog' executable).

Then check if there's some interesting out when you try invoking the context menu.
