Is there a shortcut key for switching focus to the Projects tool view?
Cheers. |

Yeah, "show left dock" does that if the left dock is already shown and doesn't have focus.

Hi, this seems to show/hide the tool view, but it doesn't receive keyboard input focus :/
Update: after showing the tool view, TAB gives focus to the actual window. Not bad, but not exactly what I'm after. It would be nice if you could toggle focus directly between the editor window and the Project view. |

Actually, would love to get involved sometime! On a related note, is there any plan for a "multiple window" mode like Gimp has, for example? I'd love to detach my Tool views and move them to a second monitor. |

You can already detach toolviews (just drag their header). Multiple windows has been on the agenda various times, but somehow we never arrived at a clear "that's how we do it" ... Also here, patches and ideas are welcome

Yep. detachable tabs is definitely on my wishlist. It's doable in Qt5.
@op: If you wanna get started: no problem, it's easy! See e.g.: * https://techbase.kde.org/KDevelop5/HowToCompile * http://kfunk.org/2016/02/16/building-kd ... ntu-15-10/ Patches welcome, indeed! |

Like I said, definitely something I'd love to get involved with in the future. Man would I love to have that Build View in its own window *see edit... Anyway, not sure to what extent you're involved with the development, but kudos anyway to all who contribute, what a fantastic IDE. I've recently returned to KDev from Eclipse. Eclipse is very very good, but just doesn't feel like home Edit: actually, it's almost perfect if you just resize KDev to span multiple monitors, then position and resize the Build Tool View.

So, happy for the time being with my Build View docked to the right and filling my 2nd monitor , is there a shortcut key to go to the first/next error (as in, simulate double clicking on the line in build View to navigate there in the editor view)?

F4 by default. Did you try detaching the build view ...? You can have it as a separate window, just drag the header (on the left).

Wasn't able to detach it fully, no. Just drag it and dock within the KDev parent window. Is it a new feature? I'm using the relatively old 4.6.0 P.S. F4 it is, thanks. For anyone else having trouble finding it, it's under "Outputmark" in the key config.

Don't know, 4.6 is so old I don't remember how it was back then ... in 5, next to the close button of each tooview there's a detach/attach button, you can click that as well. If that is not there, probably it didn't work back then.

OK time to update I guess. I wish Ubuntu/Mint would add to their default repositories, I like to use package manager whenever possible!

Just for info and as a follow up, I upgraded to 4.7.1 and I have a nice separate build window Thanks folks.
P.S. If you are using Mint, I would NOT recommend you try to upgrade, unless you know what you are doing reasonably well. Lots of possible headaches with dependencies and such.
