KDevelop C# Language Support?...

Sat Oct 29, 2016 2:21 am
Hi,

I've read here KDevelop C# Language Support https://blogs.kde.org/2004/09/13/kdevelop-c-language-support may have this by KDE 4.3. It it available on the current version and if so were can I read the doc's regarding this feature or is there a plugin. I want to be able to do GTK+ with Mono.

Thanks!

This post is from 2004 and now, more than twelve years later, everything is different.

We currently don't support C#, except for syntax highlighting. With our current C/C++ support being based on libclang, I could imagine it could be implemented in the future eventually. None of the current core developers uses C# though, so it is unlikely to happen unless somebody from outside steps up to do it.

I'm working on the KDevelop IDE.

Well, I'm not part of the KDE team, but I would be interested in this. Both in helping to make KDevelop into a valid C# IDE.
With MonoDevelop pretty much dead, and AvalonStudio being seriously unstable, there is definitely a vacuum for a decent C# IDE / RAD suite.

Not sure where to start, though -- any suggestions?

-M.
