I just wrote the following code in KDevelop:

It is good PHP 7, however Kdevelop's parser doesn't work with it.
Kdevelop 5.0.4 doesn't seem to know about PHP 7?

Is this something that is known. should I file a bug report or something?

KDevelop 5.0.4 is quite old. Try with 5.1.2, or master / nightly. Looking at the kdev-php log, it seems like some PHP7 features have been implemented since.

That said, kdev-php does not have a huge lot of manpower, and help in keeping it up-to-date is always welcome
