Hi all,
Sorry if this has been asked before; my searches didn't find anything. I want to use KDevelop as a text editor for programming (like Geany) for example. I am not using its projects feature. The code I'm working on is cross-compiled on a remote server, and therefore I'm not using KDevelop's build support features either. I would like to open files from command line using paths relative to my current directory. For example if I have a terminal open and I am in "~/src/main", if I issue the command "kdevelop arch/arm/test.c &", KDevelop tries to open a file located at "~/arch/arm/test.c" instead of "~/src/main/arch/arm/test.c". Is there a way to tell KDevelop to open the provided file relative to the current path? Geany does it without any problem, and if I remember correctly I didn't have this issue with KDevelp 4.x.x either. Thanks. Running Kubuntu 17.10 and KDevelo 5.2.1. |

If you want to use an application only as a text editor for programming, why not Kate, which is used by Kdevelop?

Yes, the AppImage. This way I can always use the latest version.

Yeah, opening files with relative paths from the AppImage is broken, we'll fix it for the next version.
I'm working on the KDevelop IDE.

Thanks!
Also, (this might need a separate topic) the static word-wrap indicator line doesn't appear on the light-coloured schemas. I can see it on dark-coloured schemas as a thins light-gray line, but on light-coloured schemas it is not visible. Is it possible to add an option to adjust the indicator line's colour? |

That option exists, in the editor settings under Colors, Icon Border -> Word Wrap Marker.
I'm working on the KDevelop IDE.
