I did a quick search in the forum and some poking around, but couldn't find a way to tweak comment continuation in C/C++.

What I'm talking about is this.

Code: Select all
/*
**++
**
**  MODULE DESCRIPTION:
**
**   Create a pseudo-terminal, enable it as an operator, and intercept the
**   OPCOM messages delivered to it.  This program is more an example than
**   anything useful.  The main loop (in which you could do something
**   useful with the intercepted messages) just prints them out.

Some shops have standards much like the above. One of the few things Eclipse does well is adapt to comment standards. Whatever started the previous comment line gets continued to the next when you hit return. I cannot seem to find a way to turn on adaptive comment continuation. Does this functionality exist?

Not as a configurable feature, but the text editor in general copies all leading non-word-characters to the next line if you press Shift+Return. Maybe that is enough for you.

Best,
Sven

I'm working on the KDevelop IDE.
