Kdevelop AND cmake_plaincpp.tar.bz2 template

hello
created a project using the cmake_plaincpp.tar.bz2 template
found that the CMAKE_CXX_FLAGS was not set
is that variable meant to be set by the user?

That variable is empty by default. You can set it to something, either in CMakeLists.txt or from the cmake command line or cache file, if you want to.

I'm working on the KDevelop IDE.
