For me, the KWallet is very troublesome but the security is very important. For this reason, I ecrypted all my home and, therefore, I don't need kwallet anymore. But in the last version I've installed (4.8.5), if I don't active kwallet, a lot of kde applications (kmail, knetworkmanager,...) ask for password and I don't know how indicate them that I want to store passwords in plain text.
I've tried to open the kwallet at the init of kde as following:
But it always appears the qt dialog to introduce the password. There is any way to do that I want? I search a lot in google but I don't find anything. Tanks, Leto |

I don't personally use KWallet, but here's an idea - have you tried to set the master (KWallet) password to "". i.e., an empty password?

Thank you, yes, it works if I use an empty password, but anyway, knetworkmanager still continues asking me for the 3G PIN ![]() |

Which version of Network Management are you using? I know some versions had a bug in 3G connectivity and PIN's.

Sorry for my late answer, I couldn't connect to Internet these days.
I'm not sure how to see the version of network management. Using the Muon Package Manager I saw the version of the following packages:

I have now checked with the developers - it turns out PIN's for mobile devices are explicitly excluded as they are related to SIM cards rather than devices. As such, if a different card is used, it could end up being locked out if KDE were to save the PIN.
The prior issue I mentioned was for the saving of other credentials.

But I have only used a SIM. Maybe KDE confussed when desactive-activate the KWallet. I'm going to create the conexion again with the KWallet activated and I'll tell you. |
