Hi,
In 'default applications', I set Thunderbird as the default mail client with 'thunderbird %u'. When I use the contextual-menu on (for example) an image, to send it via e-mail, it still opens in KMail. Am I doing something wrong, or is it just not possible to get Thunderbird to be the default? Thanks. |

I don't seem to have that option, it could be that you installed a 3rd party service menu and it only uses Kmail (or that I don't see it). Are you trying to attach within Dolphin?
you could try http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php/?content=122832 |

Yeah, I'm doing so within Dolphin. It's right click --> Actions --> Send as an attachment.
I like your link. Sorry for being obtuse.. do I create a text file in ~/.kde/share/kde4/services with that? What do I call the file? |

save it in ~/.kde4/share/kde4/services/ServiceMenus as something like Attach-to-thunderbird.desktop and it will be under the action submenu of the context menu
for the icon to display you probably need to change the icon location in the script as it looks hard coded to t-bird 3.0.7 |

Excellent, that works. Thanks for that!

Excellent, but if you want to add multiple files, you must change these lines.

I don't think so. But if you are using Plasma 5 and/or Dolphin 15.08.0 or later, you need to copy it to ~/.local/share/kservices5/ServiceMenus/ (create the folder if it doesn't exist). ~/.kde4/ is obviously only used by KDE4. Although, depending on your distribution it might also be ~/.kde/share/kde4/services/ServiceMenus/ for KDE4. |
