I use "kate" to manage my activities and recently
stumbled across the fact that you can extend "kate" by putting some javascript code into ~/.kde/share/apps/katepart/script/. My script, which inserts a date-stamp and my first name at the current cursor position, works fine, but the name is hard-coded into the script code! Is there a means to retrieve an environment variable's value on Linux? I tried "OS.getenv("LOGNAME")", "System.getenv("LOGNAME")" but none would work. |
