Playonlinux and icons in KDE

Tue May 07, 2013 1:20 am
Hello! New guy here, and I'm not sure if this is the best catagory to post this, but here it goes. I just recently added kde desktop to Ubuntu 13.04. I love kde, but I can't get playonlinux to add icons to either the desktop or a panel. I can open the programs installed in POL by opening POL first, but I want an icon on the panel. Any ideas?

Thanks!

For the desktop, PlayOnLinux is probably able to add *.desktop files to folders. You could configure a Folder View applet to show a certain folder where POL will place the icons, which would achieve that.

Unfortunately, Plasma Desktop does not support being modified from an external process, which would be required to add a shortcut to the panel. You will need to add this by hand, which can be done easily (if applets are unlocked) by dragging the appropriate icon from the application menu (Kickoff) to the panel.
