Customisation of Kile

Thu Jul 18, 2013 3:59 am
Using Kile 2.1.0 on Linux Mint 13.

The default font size shown in my editor is painfully small and I have to enlarge it using Ctrl++ every time I open a file. Is there a way to customize Kile in a way so that when I start it, every time it opens with

1) The enlarged font size which I generally use.
2) The automatic spell check activated which I have to otherwise invoke by Ctrl+Shift+O.
3) My preferred dictionary English (UK) activated instead of English (US).

I don't have kile installed but since it uses katepart, you should find a "Configure editor" or similar window somewhere in the settings menu, which should allow you to configure all of this.

Greetings,

I'm working on the KDevelop IDE.

I am sure there are. But being relatively novice in KDE world, it would be helpful to have more specific information. In fact I tried those options and unable to figure out the meanings of most of them.

I based this off KWrite, but it should be similar in Kile at least, once you have found the Configure Editor settings.
Select Fonts & Colours > Font, which has the option to adjust the size there.

If you cannot find Configure Editor in the Settings menu, then try looking for "Editor Component" in the Kile settings themselves.
