Kile: Live preview feature not functioning

A few days ago I switched from MiKTeX to TeX Live in order to make both my Mac and Windows computer be on the same platform. I've been ripping my hair out trying to figure out why Kile suddenly decided to stop working. To be clear, the regular compile function works perfectly. But the single most alluring feature of Kile, the live preview feature, does not work.

On the "Log and Messages" screen, this is what shows up:

Code: Select all
[LivePreview-PDFLaTeX] test.tex => test.pdf (pdflatex)
[LivePreview-PDFLaTeX] finished with exit code 1
Cannot open log file; did you run LaTeX?

This is what shows up on the "Output" screen:
Code: Select all
*****
*****     LivePreview-PDFLaTeX output:
*****     cd "F:/"
*****     pdflatex -synctex=1 -interaction=nonstopmode -output-directory=C:/Users/Kevin/AppData/Roaming/.kde/share/apps/kile/livepreview/preview-p0caaa/ test.tex
*****
This is pdfTeX, Version 3.1415926-2.5-1.40.14 (TeX Live 2013/W32TeX)
 restricted \write18 enabled.
entering extended mode
! I can't find file `test.tex'.
<*> test.tex

(Press Enter to retry, or Control-Z to exit)
Please type another input file name
! Emergency stop.
<*> test.tex

!  ==> Fatal error occurred, no output PDF file produced!
Transcript written on "C:/Users/Kevin/AppData/Roaming/.kde/share/apps/kile
/livepreview/preview-p0caaa//texput.log".

So, do any of you have any idea why Kile is having problems?

Does the directory "C:/Users/Kevin/AppData/Roaming/.kde/share/apps/kile/livepreview/preview-p0caaa/" exist on your computer, and are you able to create files there?

Also, is the name of your file "test.tex"?

When I look in that directory after Kile tries to start compiling, the directory does indeed exist. And yes, I do have read and write rights. There's just one file in there named "texput.log" located in that directory. Kile seems to automatically delete the entire directory immediately after the application closes. So, the following is not the original file, but it should still be fine for debugging purposes. Here's what it says:

Code: Select all
This is pdfTeX, Version 3.1415926-2.5-1.40.14 (TeX Live 2013/W32TeX) (format=pdflatex 2013.7.21)  27 JUL 2013 14:34
entering extended mode
 restricted \write18 enabled.
 %&-line parsing enabled.
**test.tex

! Emergency stop.
<*> test.tex

*** (job aborted, file error in nonstop mode)

I am guessing the emergency error it is referring to is the message you gave previously, however it is not possible to know for sure. Could you try to get the actual output itself, or failing that - attempt to run the command Kile does manually?
Code: Select all
! I can't find file `test.tex'.

Otherwise, this looks like Kile is not copying the *.tex file to the temporary directory for rendering into PDF. I'm not too familiar with Texlive or Kile unfortunately, so I am not sure why this part of the process would fail.
