Public file server applet

Thu Nov 06, 2008 6:28 pm
The public file server applet for the panel is one of the things I love KDE 3 for. I had a problem - showing pix to people in a chatroom - and there was an applet which was extremely simple to use and provided the exact solution to my problem.

However, when I tried out KDE 4.1.2 today, I couldn't find such an applet (now called "widget") anymore. Why is it gone? Will there be a replacement?

Is there any other application which provides a solution to my problem? I searched a little if GNOME has such a thing, but I found nothing. Only command-line interface based things or stuff which was way too complicated to set up.

I've not tried it myself, but the last time I saw this asked the poster was pointed towards Kepas:
