Hi! I have to screens connected always (vga and hdmi). The vga is the main screen and the hdmi one only for videos (secondary screen).
I added this line to /usr/share/config/kdm/Xsetup
that works ok but AFTER login. When KDM appears is a giant 1920x1080 inside a 1600x900 screen, so I can't see a thing. I just type the password and hit enter. After that the second screens places to the left of the primary one. But the whole idea is to to that before kde shows up. Also, related to that, I want plasma/kwin/whatever to always open windows on the primary screen, but it keeps opening stuff in the second screen. Even the kmix volume control which I can't drag back. Thanks. |

Can you try using separate xrandr commands to setup each display, set the primary and then position them appropriately?

Yes, like that. Did it have any effect?

Nope. I can see the splash but not KDM.

It is probable that the KDM Greeter component isn't handling your multi screen setup properly unfortunately.
If you set it to use clone mode with a single resolution, does that behave appropriately?

I'll try but clone mode isn't useful at all.
