Bluetooth input issue

Tue Sep 30, 2014 4:16 pm
Hi, I am having a lot of problems with an a2dp headset with KDE / pulseaudio.

I have a Jabra Stone2 bluetooth headset and am using it with SIP / VOIP client software (SFL-Phone).

I can use the headsets earphone but can't use the microphone.

I have used a 'pactl list' command and the output is as follows:-

Card #7
Name: bluez_card.50_C9_71_32_C9_92
Driver: module-bluez5-device.c
Owner Module: 44
Properties:
device.description = "JABRA STONE2"
device.string = "50:C9:71:32:C9:92"
device.api = "bluez"
device.class = "sound"
device.bus = "bluetooth"
device.form_factor = "headset"
bluez.path = "/org/bluez/hci0/dev_50_C9_71_32_C9_92"
bluez.class = "0x240404"
bluez.alias = "JABRA STONE2"
device.icon_name = "audio-headset-bluetooth"
device.intended_roles = "phone"
Profiles:
a2dp: High Fidelity Playback (A2DP Sink) (sinks: 1, sources: 0, priority: 10, available: yes)
off: Off (sinks: 0, sources: 0, priority: 0, available: yes)
Active Profile: a2dp
Ports:
headset-output: Headset (priority: 0, latency offset: 0 usec)
Part of profile(s): a2dp
headset-input: Headset (priority: 0, latency offset: 0 usec, not available)

Notice that the last line states that the input is not available. After reading threads on other forums, I have come to the conclusion that this is an issue with pulseaudio.

The specifications of my desktop setup is:

OpenSuse (version 13.1, just recently upgraded to tumbleweed rolling version)
KDE (version 14.4)
Pulseaudio (version 4.0)
Alsa (version 1.0.27)
SFL-Phone (version 1.4.1 KDE)

At the moment, I am using a standard handheld microphone (connect to the Desktops soundcard) and would love to use the headset mic.
I realize that this problem is more of an Pulseaudio issue (rather then a KDE issue), but any help or suggestions would be appreciated!

To be able to receive input you need to use the HSP profile for communicating with a Bluetooth device. Currently you are using the A2DP profile. From what I can see though, your device doesn't appear to support the HSP profile. Can you verify that it does support the HSP profile?
