Klipper's actions and firefox

Sat Mar 14, 2015 1:34 pm
Hello, community!

I'm trying to use Klipper's "actions". I enabled them and they work (a menu pops up when content suitable for an action is copied to the clipboard) everywhere BUT on firefox. For example, if on rekonq I right click → Copy url on a link, a menu opens offering several options but if I do the same on firefox the menu is not activated: I need to go to Klipper and select the "invoke action manually on the current clipboard content" (or something like that, I do not have the English version).

Klipper's actions work from non KDE applications too: they work when copying from chromium or from Writer, for example. The problem seems to be only with firefox.

I'm on openSUSE 13.1, 64 bits (KDE 4.11.5, firefox 36) but I know at least one kubuntu user with the same problem.

Any idea?

Thanks!

Found it: Klipper explicitly disable actions from Firefox and other apps. To "fix" the problem, under Klipper → Configure → Actions → Advanced and remove

MozillaFirefox-bin
firefox-bin
Firefox-bin
Navigator

and actions will work without problems.

Source: Bug 189420 - klipper actions are not triggered if the url is copied into the clipboard in Firefox
