Blogilo crashing & Blogger issues with images and tags

I've been testing out Blogilo again as an alternative option to going into Windows to use Windows Live Writer for blogging. I'm having some problems with Blogilo. I'm using Linux Mint 17.2 and Blogilo 1.1

It seems the option to add an image using a web url isn't there anymore. When I click to add an image and paste the web url of the image in I end up with a box with and X in it. Looking at the HTML tab I can see that Blogilo has changed the http to file so it's looking for the image locally.

If I right click on the blank X box Blogilo crashes every time.

If I manually add the images using the HTML tab the images display ok (most of the time), but the image resize options do not always work properly. If I uncheck use original image size and try to change the size but keep the ratio locked it doesn't automatically change the 2nd number.

If I select an image file that is stored on my computer the image inserts fine and is easy to edit and work with. But because I use Blogger to host my blogs on Blogilo won't upload my images. I'm not sure why it doesn't offer this because many of the other blog writing programs I've used DO offer this for Blogger. Blogger uses Google Photos to store its images in, formerly called Picasa. In other programs such as Live Writer, I can enter any photo on my computer, edit the size, shadows, alt. text and watermark easily. When the post is published the images are added to my Google Photos album and properly inserted into the blog post.

Another hold back is that Blogilo won't let me create new tags for Blogger. This is something that WLW can do as well.

I would LOVE to be able to use Blogilo as my main offline writer, and I hope that in the future these things might be considered to be fixed/added features. In the meantime, I was wondering if anyone does use Blogilo to blog with the Blogger platform? Any tips on how to get around these problems would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Kim
