I noticed that in KDE file transfer (progress bar) is not shown as separate window but as a icon on notification area. Only after clicking that icon we can see progress bar with some basic options like pause or cancel. Weirdly, when running Krusader Administration version it does show up standard window when copying/moving files. In other DE's then KDE file transfer shows nicely as a window.

Is there a way to turn it off and return to usual file transfer window? It is more informative then this notification area.

I found out that this behavior was implemented in some kde 4 version and is continued since on. While in KDE 4 there was a way to turn it off (by unchecking some options in notification area settings), there is no such possibility in KDE 5 (not proper options to uncheck).

This is pretty basic stuff and I am amazed that this problem is hardly spoken anywhere.

Testing with Plasma 5 & Dolphin.

Disabling 'Track file transfer and other jobs' and restarting the plasma - this can be done by log out, log in.



The Dolphin is showing KDE file transfer window not the plasma notification.



The setting can be edited by:
Left clicking the 'Show hidden icons' arrow.
Right clicking the 'Notifications'
Left clicking the ' Notification settings'

Hello, I tried the proposed solution on manjaro linux with plasma 5.6.2 and it does not work, is it a a plasma 5.6.2 problem?
I tried with dolphin and krusader both don't show any progress window if the track files and other job is off in the notification settings.

EDIT: I found out that on plasma 5.6 it also need to disable "Show progress and status information" in the task bar settings"

Since Plasma 5.6.4 (Kubuntu 16.04) I have to disable both:

1. Notifications / right click - Notifications Settings... / uncheck Track file transfers and other jobs / OK
2. right click on the task bar / Task Manager Settings.../ uncheck Show progress and status information in task buttons / OK

Then logout and login.

I wish there would be a way to have the Krusader's file transfer window and status information in task buttons at the same time.
