I've downloaded OpenSUSE a few days ago, and I must say it's been great.
However, I've been having trouble using Amarok; I can't get it to play music. After inspecting it further, I found out that, upon start, it begins running background tasks, but there is one task that doesn't seem to be completed. It says, 'de.scenemusic.net contacted. Waiting for reply...' I've tried searching that online, but I can't find anything. How do I fix this? |

Install the corresponding gstreamer plugins, according to the music files you want to play. For MP3's, that's gstreamer-plugin-ugly (included in the distribution) or gstreamer-fluendo-mp3 (available via the additional non-oss repo that should be added by default). For other formats, you'd need to add 3rd party repos and install packages from there, Packman is the standard one for multimedia stuff in openSUSE. See e.g. http://opensuse-guide.org/codecs.php |

Well, the latter actually worked! Thank you. |
