EDIT: SOLVED: Fix was to install Dolphin4 as well as dolphin. Missing dolphinpart was then installed.
I run: Linux MINT18 4.4.0-93-generic #116-Ubuntu SMP Fri Aug 11 21:17:51 UTC 2017 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux (which was installed as a KDE distro) and konqueror -v Qt: 4.8.7 KDE Development Platform: 4.14.22 Konqueror: 4.14.22 Konqueror displays the familiar treeview sidebar and a (useless for me) right pane generated by /usr/lib/kde4/fsviewpart.so (file size view). A common problem. I want a "normal" directory treeview in the right pane. I cannot find a method of achieving this. I suspect there should be a dolphinpart* or some such to display folders/devices etc. but I don't have such a thing and I cannot find one. *I have several errors when konqueror runs such as: ... "kcmdolphinviewmodes.desktop" not found ... is this germane or red herring? For now I have renamed /usr/lib/kde4/fsviewpart.so so it doesn't hog CPU and scrape disks, and stare at a blank right pane and "fsviewpart.so not found" error messages. What can I replace it with? I have spent days trying to find an answer so definitive help would be much appreciated. |
