In the bottom right corner of each "View" window in Konqueror there is a small checkbox. When selected a "chain link" appears. If you have two or more "View" windows open, selecting the chain link in more than one window makes all the "View" windows selected change directories/webpages together. Back in Older versions of KDE, konqueror could do the same with Terminal Emulators. Click the box in the Terminal Emulator window, and in one of the "View" windows and changing the "View" windows directory also changes the one for the "Terminal Emulator" window. Why was this functionality disappear in newer versions? In need this and would appreciate getting it back. Is there any plugin or modification that can be made to return this old feature?

I wonder how exactly you use this feature?
Checking things in KDE 4, it looks like the linking with the Terminal Emulator view isn't working in Konqueror, but it is in Dolphin. So one option could be to switch to using Dolphin instead of Konqueror, insofar as Dolphin is able to handle your usages (there are a few people who insist upon using Konqueror over Dolphin for various reasons, and that is fine as Dolphin is just a file manager while Konqueror is an all-in-one manage everything app; but Dolphin is certainly capable enough by itself to cover most people's usages of Konqueror for flie management)
