hej,
i use opera as standard brower (firefox is ugly and konqueror too slow, missing functions...) but i have the problem, that my opera icon in the taskbar is not red, it is lila. ![]() i don't know why, bit it wasn't so in kde3 and it is also not so under gnome, xfce. in the kdemenu there is the right red icon. perhaps you have some ideas how i can change it. lg papierschiff

You should be able to edit the menu (right-click on the "K" and select "menu editor"). Find Opera (under Internet?) and click on the icon. You should then get a dialogue allowing you to choose another icon. How easy it will be to find the right one is something I can't predict. But once you've found it, select it and click "save" and that should do the job. (If you're using the classic menu rather than the new one, you may have to switch to the new one then back to classic for it to appear - or log out and back in).

thanks for your reply, but the icon in the kmenu isn't the same icon as on the taskbar. so when i change the right red icon in kmenu to another icon nothing change on the taskbar. it is still lila and still not very nice

Interesting thought. I just stuck a taskbar in a panel on my Kubuntu 8.10 AMD-64 system and it shows the same icon you're seeing. So you may be on to something. |

Is the Icon KWin displays in the corner also affected?
EDIT: This post was a bit incoherent....

Not sure about that for my system (I'm not even sure I understand what the difference is) but I'm using the old KDE3 Kasbar instead of a KDE4 taskbar and that shows the correct red icon. |

@bcooksley.. no, all is "normal", and until now i saw only the opera icon, which has changed.. (ok, the systray didn't work as good as on the 32bit version, but i don't need it so oft)
@beermad.. hm, i don't want use "old things", want to "look to the feature" ![]() ![]()

If Kasbar existed in KDE4, I'd be using that version. But I just happen to like the way it looks and works better than any alternative, so I'll carry on using it as long as it still works. No need to apologise for your English; I bet I'd be writing worse in your native language ![]() |
