I have used kwebdesktop as a background for a while now, but just recently it started to interfere with the work I was doing when it refreshed, something it never did before.
Now, when it refreshes, it opens a konquerer window for a couple of seconds every time it refreshes, knocking whatever I am doing into the background. It has become so annoying that I had to disable it completely, which is a shame, as I have an online diary program which lets me know whats going on throughout the day, just by looking at the background. Has this software been updated recently, and if so, how can I restore the previous version? |

Unless you performed an update through your Distributions package manager ( I think Mandriva uses Urpmi ) then it was likely not a KWebDesktop update.
I can suggest wiping your cache ( it might have corrupted data: $KDEHOME/cache-${'hostname'}/* ) Otherwise try with a new user. If you did update when this issue arose, please contact your distribution.

tried both suggestions already, and mandriva updates itself regularly, but when it asks, I rarely check which packages it updates, since there are so many. I do wonder if it has anything to do with running as a web server as well, since the diary is a work-in-progress, I run it using apache on the same pc. This speeds up the refresh too. I can't think of anything else that could have changed. |

You may wish to check the updates repository manually ( with a web browser ) looking for KDE related packages. If Mandriva have inadvertantly broken KWebDesktop, you will need to file a bug on their Bugzilla.
It shouldn't have anything to do with running a Web Server locally.
