Hi!
I get the following error when I start a KDE-application like for instance konqueror or konsole. I know that is not a serious issue. But I'd like to have it fixed anyway. I guess there are some permissions missing.

The error:
Code: Select all
QSettings: failed to open file '/etc/qt3/qt_plugins_3.3rc'

The permissions:
Code: Select all
-rw------- 1 root root 1,2K  1. Jan 23:24 /etc/qt3/qt_plugins_3.3rc

I'm using KDE 3.5.9 on Debian Lenny.

Thanks for your help!

The file /etc/qt3/qt_plugins_3.3rc should be globally readable at least. Only root needs to be able to write to it. This command ( as root ) should fix it:
Code: Select all
chmod +r /etc/qt3/qt_plugins_3.3rc

Thanks!

The following command applied as root worked for me:
Code: Select all
chmod 644 /etc/qt3/qt_plugins_3.3rc

Since you have managed to correct the problem, could you please mark the thread as solved? Thanks in advance. ( the "It's Solved" button )
