Hi!
These key combinations (cut, copy, paste) doesn't work in Eclipse. Klipper is running. Eclipse is working under XFCE without any problem. Any ideas? Thanks. |

+1... been using Eclipse for the first time in my life over the last few days for a Java course, and get roughly the same behaviour. Shift-Ins works, but Ctrl-V doesn't. Ctrl-X works OK.

Horrible. Why it works in other DEs, I don't know.

Does it work with Klipper closed?

Strange... I fired up Eclipse 3.4 and copy/cut/paste worked fine for me on KDE 4.2.2...
Are you using the Eclipse provided by your distribution? You could try downloading it from the eclipse.org and trying that (Eclipse requires no installation - just unpack and run)

Yes, the Eclipse is from the opensuse repo.
I downloaded and installed (manually) the Netbeans IDE - I'll report back If the same problem happens with Netbeans. |

Turns out it's an upstream bug, and it's old:
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=153809 There is also a (suboptimal) workaround in comment 28.

I'm on opensuse 11.1 with KDE 4.2.4.
This bug kept annoying me for years now, I really hope this will be resolved ASAP. Sorry to say that with **** like this not getting fixed for ages, the linux desktop won't get anywhere. From reading the various bug reports on this issue, I get the feeling that this bug occurs more often on openSuse than on other distros, but it doesn't seem to be exclusive. Let's wait and see. |

You are encountering an issue of a different kind if they don't work at all, as this topic is only about Eclipse. Try changing your keyboard layout in System Settings > Regional & Language > Keyboard Layout.
