I cannot find anywhere help how to program keys in Kcontrol's input action section. There seems to be specific syntax for programming these hotkeys but I cannot find any help file.
Especially I need help how to send keystrokes first to one window and then to another. Can anyone help? |

Input Actions > Edit > New > Window Action > Send Keyboard Input.
On the trigger tab, ensure to add the Windows you wish to effect with the add button. An autodetect button is available there which will prefill the various details, allowing you to add new Windows easily. On the Action tab, repeat the same except for the application recieving the Keystrokes. I do not believe it allows you to supply any prefilled keyboard input.

Yes I can add new window easily but how to get them to be associated to a specific keystroke sequences? For example, I have a chain of keystrokes Alt+u:l:Enter:Down:Right:Right:Right:Enter The keys until Down go to an application but at Down there appears a new window and therefore the last part of the sequences has no effect. What to do? |

Oops, directed you to the wrong one. You would be after Input Actions > Edit > New > Keyboard Shortcut > Send Keyboard Input.
You can set the shortcut on the Trigger tab, and specify the destination window + desired input on the action tab as before.

Thanks a lot. Now I understood the logic of this input action system. I had to create a new input action section where trigger is a window and not a key combination. |
